What -K- does

-K- is a close friend of mine. She’s in her early 20s, and she’s not a designer. But she’s one of the most creative force I’ve encountered in recent years (though she seems to be unaware of it). One thing I love to do with her is chatting while she’s drawing random stuff on sheets of paper. What I do afterwards is I carefully gather her basquiatesque artworks and start studying them carefully.
The following picture, cropped and highlighted from a much larger canvas of feminine, nervous, energetic and original imagery, is an example of the vast array of things that K does.

I’m seeing a bag here.
When she drew the shape, I quickly mentioned this.
She didn’t deny and went with the flow, spitting quick ideas as they came by before drawing something else and changing subject… new subject being more or less related to koi carp tattoos.
I later tried to re-work on designs based on this – a moment captured – with results leaving me more or less satisfied.
Being unable to get to the purity of this raw creativity, I can only try to approach it on tiptoe.

Oh…. yeah I know. I fucked up my newsletter (like, messed up the title and stuff). So don’t mention it.
-K-, thank you so much.
All of you, take care.
